Alex Kavanagh is currently the president of CAFTCAD (The Canadian Alliance of Film & Television Costume Arts & Design). Alex has been working in the costume department for film and television for over 25 years as a Costume Designer, Supervisor, and Breakdown Artist. She is a graduate of the Dalhousie Costume Studies program. Alex is currently a Member of IATSE 873.
Her costume design credits include The Vow (Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum), the cult classic Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and The Kids In The Hall miniseries Death Comes To Town. Known for her work in the horror genre, Alex designed the very successful Saw franchise, George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead, Diary of the Dead and Survival of the Dead, as well as Ginger Snaps II, and III. She also designed the costumes for Vincenzo Natail’s Splice, and Darren L. Bousman’s rock opera Repo! The Genetic Opera. Alex was costume supervisor on Suicide Squad and xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.
